The SEFCO-2025 (Shaping the Energy Future: Challenges & Opportunities) conference will be held from April 23-25, 2025, at the CSIR - Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. The event will focus on sustainable energy, alternative fuels, carbon capture, hydrogen economy, and digital innovations in energy. Sessions will cover topics such as renewable energy, carbon neutrality, industrial waste valorization, and energy-efficient practices.
The conference's scientific sessions are organized into six themes:
Energy Transition, Energy Efficient Practices, and Future Mobility: Topics include alternative fuels, electric energy materials, storage devices, energy harvesting, improved combustion practices, waste heat recovery, energy efficiency, and energy transmission and distribution.
Crude Oil & Coal: Exploring Innovations and Opportunities: This session covers crude to chemicals and fuels, refinery and petrochemical processes, future refinery configurations, coal gasification, syngas purification, syngas to fuels and chemicals, and valorization of waste plastic. ?
Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage: Focus areas include materials and processes for carbon capture, CO? utilization, chemical looping, photocatalytic, electrocatalytic, and thermocatalytic transformations, enhanced oil recovery, carbon neutrality, and carbon sequestration. ?
Renewable Energy and Chemicals: Topics encompass biomass to fuels, chemicals, and advanced materials, sustainable fuels, valorization of used cooking oil, agricultural waste and forestry residues, chemicals and fuels by fermentation, algal fuels, and renewable polymers. ?
Hydrogen Production, Storage, and End-Use: This session addresses conventional and unconventional hydrogen production, materials for hydrogen storage and carriers, photocatalytic and electrocatalytic approaches for hydrogen generation, and fuel cells. ?
Leveraging Digital Innovations for Energy Transition and Sustainability: Topics include artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, and advanced analytics for energy management and sustainability, operations, remote monitoring, digital innovations for refineries, bio-refineries, chemical industries, and circular economy.
